Long time no see!

Today’s the day we’ve all been waiting for!

The live-action version of the beloved series “Avatar: The Last Airbender” has been released on Netflix!

I grew up with watching this series and ever since Netflix announced during their Tuddum Event back in 2023!

The live action version of “Avatar the last Airbender” has eight episodes in its first season! And covers the first book “Water” out of three!

This series was released today, February 22nd 2024 with those eight episodes on Netflix!

This series starrs Gordon Cormier as our lead Aang. Kiawentiio starrs as Karara. Ian Ousley (“13 Reasons Why”) as Sokka. Dallas Liu (“Shang Chi: The Legend Of The Ten Rings”) starrs as Prince Zuko. Just to name a few.

This series was directed by Michael Goi (“American Horror Stories: Delicate”). Jabbar Raisani (“Stranger Things).

This series was rated Tv-14. It is an Adventure/Action/Fantasy/Comedy./drama.

Onto the premise: Set in an Asiatic, war-torn world where certain people can “bend” one of the four classical elements: water, earth, fire, or air. Aang is the “Avatar”, the only one capable of bending all the elements, and is destined to bring peace to the world from the Fire Nation. With his new companions Katara and Sokka, Aang sets out to master the elements while being pursued by the exiled Fire Nation prince Zuko, who seeks to regain his honor by capturing the Avatar.

In episode one: An Airbender comes to grips with his new reality as war erupts. A century later, a pair of Water Tribe siblings make a discovery that changes everything.

In episode two: Aang, Katara and Sokka arrive at a small island, home to elite warriors named after Avatar Kyoshi. The Fire Nation gets wind of the Avatar’s whereabouts.

In episode three: News of a traitor puts the trio at odds in Omashu, where a mechanist and rebels with a charming leader muddle their plans to protect the Earth Kingdom.

In episode four: In captivity, Aang meets a king with a taste for games. To find their friend, the siblings must navigate a dark tunnel – and put their differences aside.

In episode five: When the group lands in the spirit world for a rescue mission, they come face to face with dangerous threats, painful memories and a mysterious entity.

In episode six: A desperate Aang visits Avatar Roku for help on his journey as the Fire Nation closes in on him. At the fortress, a masked intruder breaks Aang out.

In episode seven: As an attack on the Northern Water Tribe looms, Katara challenges a master Waterbender, Sokka meets a princess and Aang takes Kuruk’s words to heart.

In episode eight, the season finale: Zhao leads the Fire Nation into the North with a bold plan to weaken the Water Tribe. When the battle takes a dark turn, Aang enters a powerful state.

As someone who knows the source material of the anime, I really enjoyed this one, even if they made a few changes here and there.

This whole season felt like as if I was rewatching the cartoon from 2005!

Can’t wait to watch season 2!

This one was my highlight and definitely worth a watch!
