Just finished watching “The Last Son” and I’m speechless! Starring Colson Baker, Heather Graham, Sam Wirthington and Thomas Jane. This movie was directed by Tim Sutton
I really liked the chapters in which the movie was divided up to. I have a few faves character wise. My number one is of course my guy Machine Gun Kelly and Shotgun 🐴 I liked how certain scenes were shot in certain scenes with interesting and clever camera angles. As seen in the shot, with the mirror in Anna’s, Heather Graham’s bedroom, for example.I have to admit there were certain scenes that were uncomfortable to watch but overall, I really liked the movie and Montana is such a beautiful state 🤩 It was nice seeing Colson Baker in a lead role. Where he was longer than five minutes in a movie 🎥
The pacing was a little bit too slow at times. but overall, I really liked this movie.
The acting was good, especially Colson Baker, aka Cal. Him being lost and irritated was painful to watch. But also the scenes with him and Sam, Isaac Lemay were INTENSE to say the least! The movie was good despite of its lack of dialogue but that added to the overall atmosphere and the feeling it created. Therefore my favorite scene was the rat-scene because I could really feel the genuine love and the care Cal had towards that rat, which he stole from this guy afterwards. Even after he continued his quest he would open his palm to see, if the rat was still there 🥰🥺 🐀 That scene was so heartfelt. That an animal could break the cold-heartiness of this outlaw.
I have to say that Montana is such a beautiful state 🤩 Like the landscape shots were magical!
It was nice seeing Colson in a lead role, where he shone and was longer than five minutes in it, as he had been with his other roles. And where he USED an old MACHINE GUN 💥as an homage to his stage name and caused some trouble. I really liked the Hamlet referring scene in Anna’s room, as a literature scholar. I wouldn’t have trusted him, if I had been Solomon, because his fans, know when he’s about to change his mind and do the opposite thing that he originally wanted because it’s noticeable in his face oftentimes, I’m mentioning this in a good way. Therefore when Cal did that gesture with his weapon in Anna’s room, i knew he’d
change his mind and do, what he did to Marshal Solomon in that one particular scene💥
As for the end, well I wasn’t expecting it to unfold THAT way! It was nice to see a different, yet modern twist in a western 🐴 🤠
🎥 10/10
