Oscar “Nominations” are here!

THIS year I’m so excited to watch it and see if my favorite movies will end up taking their award home!

First of all, I would like to say that, I am very happy that “DUNe” got seven nominations. It is so well deserved in my opinion because THAT movie was an experience! I seen it 4 times by now and am as mesmerized as I was watching it for the first time. The soundtrack…. I mean it’s Hans Zimmer, do I have to say more to that?!

I think it’ll take home it’s nominations for “Beat Movie”, “Original Score” “Visual Effects” . “Best Picture” because the whole movie was too beautiful like I said , it was an experience and more than just “sci-fi- feature movie. However it’ll be a tie for “Production Design” between “Nightmare Alley” and “Dune” in my opinion. We’ll see which movie will take that one home at the actual award show ceremony on March 27th 2022 in Los Angeles.

I was very excited to see that “Nightmare Alley” got a few nominations along with “Cinematography” which is well deserved in my opinion because that movie, especially the scene in that circus-esque- scene in the opening scene of “Nightmare Alley “ was beautifully shot and color-graded. It’s another one of my wishes and predictions, which came true.. I watched that one twice and can’t and couldn’t stop thinking about it….like from the set design … to the actual story… to its editing … to it’s narration… and to that plot twist …. along with the actors like Bradley Cooper did a great job. Along with “William Defoe” aka “Green Goblin” from the “Spider-Man” -Franchise. Along with Rooney Mara, whose performance I really liked in “Nightmare Alley”. Nightmare Alley “ will be stuck in my head for a long time.

In the category of “Actress In A Supporting Role” I was very happy to see that Aunjanue Ellis from her role as the mother of Venus and Serena Williams. in “King Richard”because that movie was a great movie, despite of its critics. Therefore I would be very pleased to see it winning that award on March 27th 2022.

In the category of “Actor in A Supporting Role” I am kinda torn about the actors, which the academy chose, because I loved J.K. Simmons in “Being The Ricardos” but also was very impressed with Troy Kotsur in “CODA”. Therefore I would be very pleased if either one of them would end up winning this award.

I would’ve loved to see “Minari” get a nomination for the “International Feature Film” category but “Drive my Car” was as okay-ish as “Minari” but “Minari” was 10x better than “Drive My Car”.

Because I didn’t watch any movies, which were listed in the “Documentary (short and feature) I won’t be able to voice my opinion and favorite one on that.

When it comes to the category of “Original Song” I am torn between the movies nominations for “Four Good Days” and “Encanto”. The soundtrack for “Encanto” was beautiful and unique itself and in a foreign language but the soundtrack for “Four Good Days” put me onto a rollercoaster of emotions. Therefore I would be happy if either one of them won the award in this category.

“Pixar’s’ movies have always had a special place in my heart and therefore I was very excited to see that “Luca” along with “Encanto” both got a nomination in the category for “Animated Feature” but along with “The Mitchells vs. The Machines” and “Raya and the last Dragon”, which featured my favorite Comedian Awkwafina. I really really enjoyed all movies in this category but I would be very happy it “Luca” brought that award home because it was such a beautiful and heartfelt story and movie.

As for “Adapted Screenplay” category I’d like for “CODA”, Children Of Deaf Adults” because of its uniqueness and the story is just to beautiful and also the actors and actresses who were deaf in real life, were amazing and also “Dune” will already be the winner od the night so I think “CODA” would really deserve a win in this category, in my opinion.

As for the “Original Screenplay” category nominations. I think and want “Don’t Look Up” to win because that movie…. was a trip to watch. I really liked Jennifer Lawrence and Leonardo DiCaprio and man , oh man, Jonah Hill’s performances in this movie.

Even tho it was way too long and slow at times. Like story-discourse wise, but it’s uniqueness makes up for it.

Andrew Garfield would deserve the award in the category “Actor In A Leading Role” for his role in “Tick…Tick….Boom” because he was amazing and that movie in itself was too relatable for me. I really liked how he went from emotion to emotions and his voice in that musical was beautiful and impressive at the same time.

Kristen Stewart impressed me with her performance as princess Diana in “Spencer” . Therefore she deserves to win in the category of “Actress In A Leading Role”.

Steven Spielberg will win the “Director” award for his movie-musical “Westside Story” because I mean it’s Spielberg, do I need to add anything else?!

However “Belfast” was a such a beautiful movie as well but you know… it’s Spielberg.

For “Costume Design” I’m torn between three movies: “Dune”, “Nightmare Alley” , “Cruella” . I can’t choose one. I loved all of the costume designs like Cruellas’s fire-dress. The characters’ dresses and tuxedos in “Nightmare Alley”. Zendaya’s outfit in “Dune”. I would be happy if either one of them won this award.

The “Achievement in Sound” award would go to “Dune” because of Hans Zimmer. If not, I’d be happy with “No Time To Die” as well, because Billie Eillish’s song was beautifully sung on its soundtrack.

“Animated Short File” , well I don’t have a prediction nor an opinion on that because I have not watched any movie in that category but we’ll see which one will take that one home at the award ceremony.

Same goes for the category of “Live Action short film”.

But when it comes to “Original Score” I want “Encanto to win.

As for the category of “Visual Effects” I am torn between “Dune” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” because both movies were beautifully edited. So I am curious which one will end up winning that award.

But I’m also torn between “Shang-Chi and the Legend of The Ten Rings” and “No Time To Die”.

For the category of “Film Editing” my pick is “Dune” but I wouldn’t mind if “Tick.Tick..Boom” or “Don’t Look Up” because I liked both of them , when it comes to editing.

For the category of “Makeup and Hairstyle” my picks are “House of Gucci” because of Lady Gaga as Patrizia Reggiani but mainly for Jared Leto’s character of “Paolo Gucci” like I couldn’t recognize him when I was watching it.

That’s it, those are my picks and predictions for the 94th Oscars Nominations.
