Yesterday I watched the new Netflix Crime/Drama/Thriller “Windfall”, which was released on March 18th 2022 on Netflix. This movie starrs Lily Collins (Pam &Tommy), Jason Segel (Sex Tape), Jesse Plemons (Game Night). It was directed by Lily’s husband Charlie McDowell (Dear While People).
Onto the premise: A man breaks into a tech billionaire’s empty vacation home, but things go sideways when the arrogant mogul and his wife arrive for a last-minute getaway.
This is a Netflix thriller. It starts as a dark comedy. The tone is oddly off. Then the movie takes a dark turn….
It is almost like a play or a short, short story. Don’t get me wrong, I really liked it especially certain characters and some lines, which made giggle here and there….
Such as “I want the max!” “What’s the max?!” a certain character said during a certain scene.
This is another “pandemic movie” forget to mention that earlier.
I really liked that this movie leaves you thinking about it’s ending like wether the robber is a bad guy or nah..!
I really liked how one of the leads dropped some tech-into from time to time.. I also liked the minimalist approach to this story, the fact that it is mostly filmed in one location and only has four actors in it.
Bottom line is that this is a great movie for a movie night. Therefore it is “worth a watch”. It reminded me of all those Alfred Hitchcock movies.
