Last year, I saw this trailer for “Dilemma” and was very excited and intrigued by it at the same time.
This movie is a Drama and is starring Charnele Brown, Dee Hill (Bruised), Franchesska Melonson, Shelton Jolivette and Tiffany Collins. It has a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It was directed by Justin Milton. It will be released in a couple of months.
On the premise: It follows a happy couple as they are about to get married, but they have their plans derailed when David comes across the love that got away from him in the past.
I really liked the fact that it masks much of its laugh-out-loud funniness with dark humor, subtle jests, and highly serious drama. despite it being slow-paced.
The Dilemma treats the complicated tensions and sadnesses and joys of relationships with far more nuance than most modern comedies. Which is a plus in my opinion. Even tho IT tries to be all these things, but its not consistent. Its consistent as a comedy.
The best way to sum up the comedy of this film is, the electric cars are gay line, which genius Vince Vaughn defended the line, and thought that mean spirited comedy was funny.
I liked the cast they performed pretty well. Especially Shelton and Dee.
The story like I said was actually very interesting especially the contrast of two characters, without spoilers. I wanna talk about the soundtrack because it’s so good!
As for the ending, it was okay. But my biggest problem was it’s slow-paced. Too slow at times.
In my opinion this movie was worth a watch despite its cons.
