It’s finally here! Marvel Studios’ “Moon knight” tv show was released on March 31st 2022. It starrs Oscar Isaac (Dune), Ethan Hawke (Netflix’s The Guilty), F. Murray Abraham (Robin Hood) , Rey Lucas (The Blacklist) and David Ganly (Assasin’s Creed: Unity), just to name a few. It will have six episodes in total. Next episode will be released on April 6th 2022. It was directed by Justin Benson and Mohammad Diab.
Onto the premise: A former U.S. Marine, struggling with dissociative identity disorder, is granted the powers of an Egyptian moon god. But he soon finds out that these newfound powers can be both a blessing and a curse to his troubled life. The series follows Steven Grant, a mild- mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt.
Moonknight gave me Venom vibes with its two voices and also inception vibes because it’s sometimes hard yo differentiate between dream and reality, which I really liked.
The mirror scene was definitely a highlight of the first episode for me! Can’t wait to watch the next episode tomorrow, April 6th 2022 and to see how it will all unfold.
Another thing, which I really liked was Ethan Hawke, the character he played, or should I say the cult leader…. That scene had something very hypnotic to me. I can’t explain it what I found that hypnotic to be honest with you.
I also liked how the makers of this tv show, kinda showcased us, the audience how it’s like to live with DID, a mental disorder, which is Moon Knoght, not to spoiler anything, is suffering from.
I also really liked the fact that this is the only series, which takes the Egyptian Mythology into focus. Which is a fresh breathe of air and unique in my opinion. It also reminded me of “Deadpool” with its fight scenes , cough, cough “truck” cough cough”.
Overall I can say that this is “worth a watch” and also for all comic fans, like myself. His introduction was a dream come true for me. It was magical and I can’t stop thinking about it.
I love the pacing of this show. It blew my mind and the storytelling route was “chef’s kiss”!
I’m definitely looking forward to more episodes!
I really liked episode two: The song in the end was a good way to end the episode. Oscar’s switch to Steve, from Mark and to Moon Knight, just shows what a great actor he is! Speaking of the episode: It was definitely better than the first one! We finally met Mark and understood his background story….
In episode three: we finally got to see more of the Egyptian mythology and got to see some very fool fight scenes I’m just saying “Moon Knight’s Moon Cape” that scene really blew my mind!!! The pacing and the writing here was so good!! Oscar was Amazing! The visuals were too good! The action was just insane! I was hooked the entire time! Even tho I still have to cringe when I see the god, Kaichu, due its cgi.
In episode four , still blown away by that one, especially the ending…. WOW! By far my favorite episode! I loved every second of it! The mix of Indians Jones and Uncharted got me hooked once again! THIS episode was SO well paced! Oscar should win awards for his performance, honestly! It was inception all over again, which I loved! Wasn’t expecting the twists and turns to be honest!
In episode five, wow! Where do I begin???! Such an awesome episode! In the Egyptian Afterlife, Marc seeks to balance his soul and reconcile the deaths in his past. However, time is running out for him as Tawaret must take him through the Gates of Osiris to the Field of Reeds and the paradise that awaits Marc. Oscar Isaac’s acting , the music, the shots, the color-grading, and the story, made this episode the best one yet! Completely speechless. Oscar Isaac’s performance was Oscar worthy! I was on a rollercoaster of emotions while watching this episode. Our question have finally been answered even tho it was very disturbing and touching at the same time! Can’t believe tomorrow will be the season finale of “Moon Knight” .
I’m kinda sad that it’s all over now! But, omg! What a final episode that was?!!! I’m still speechless that we got THE character, which I had been waiting eagerly for to be added into the mix! Hint: post-credit scene!
In episode six, As Moon Knight joins the fray, Marc, Steven and Khonshu must work together to stop Ammit…. This episode was a great conclusion to the first season! As Steven and Marc finally were able to work together and be in alignment with another. The visuals, just wow! Like the fight scenes with Moon Knight and Harrow were just superb! The acting, one word: Emy-worthy” like Oscar Isaac made me she’s some tears when both of his characters reunited. I did scream when I saw that ______ ______ made his appearance during the post-credit scene! I am so happy! One thing I really liked was the transformation between Marc and Steven like the smoothness of it was too beautiful to watch! I’m still blown away! It was such a beautiful ending. I’m so stoked for the second season!!!
