It’s finally here! The highly anticipated Disney Plus and Star Wars Spin-Off after the not so well received “The Book of Boba Fett”, I was even more excited about this one! Because i had seen the first three episodes of it but it didn’t really catch me so I was even more eager to watch “Obi Wan Kenobi”.
This mini series, consists of six episodes. It is a direct spin off the Star Wars franchise/empire. It is a Sci-Fi/Action/Adventure series. Starring Vivien Lyra Blair, Ewan McGregor, Rupert Friend, Moses Ingram, Sung Kang (Fast and Furious) and Joel Edgerton (2021’s “The Green Knight”), just to name a few.
The first two episodes were released on May 27th 2022 on Disney Plus.
Onto the premise: Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi watches over young Luke Skywalker and evades the Empire’s elite Jedi hunters during his exile on the desert planet Tatooine.
In episode one, When agents of the Empire pose a new threat, Obi-Wan Kenobi emerges after years of hiding.
The first episode, the first prolly 5 minutes were consisting of all the Kenobi, Yoda, Skywalker scenes in the entire Star Wars franchise, which gave me serious goosebumps and made me feel very nostalgic.
Loved the intro and the highest quality of all qualities!
The audience is being thrown into the center of a fight between Jedi and Sith, which was in a POV-perspective, which I really liked.
Star Wars is great again, thanks to Disney+. The characters are superb. Leia has always been my favorite characters along with yoda , therefore, she is the standout of the first episode, great young actress. Ewan is always a treat, no exception here!
The first episode really shows that Star Wars can go deep, with the mental illness of Kenobi. I honestly wasn’t expecting that!
However, I really enjoyed the story and the scoring… wow! The scenery were breathtakingly beautiful. Loved to see more of Leia.
I very much enjoyed most of the lines of certain characters in this movie. It was really a trip down memory lane.
My hype is still present and I can’t wait to watch the remaining four episodes!
In episode two, On a dangerous crime-ridden world, Obi-Wan becomes a target.
Ewan shines here again. The cute conversations between him and Leia were too delightful. The casting and locations were too superb! Especially the Tokyo- look-alike- sequence in the first few minutes, we’re cinematographically and color-grading wise, beautifully done!
In episode three, Obi-Wan searches for allies as he attracts the attention of the Empire, threatening the locals.
This was a very enjoyable episode, especially the battle towards the end! Wow; I can’t stop thinking about those visuals in this episode, which were superb.
Kenobi and Leia land on a mining planet have to hitchhike safely because the planet is filled with stormtroopers. I really liked that Disney keeps being more brutal than ever in their series (Moon Knight),Darth Vader showed us how brutal he can be.
Really liked the atmosphere which was created when Leia and Ben were on the run from the stormtroopers.
There were some bits, which had logic wholes like when the stormtroopers didn’t recognize Obi Wan Kenobi, EVEN tho they were just sitting in the SAME vehicle as him!
I do agree with the memes of the girl who plays Leia (Olympia from Netflix’s 2018 “Bird Box”), is being chased by the drummer of “The Red Hot Chili Peppers”. That scene was weird and questionable…
We find out that Obi-Wan can’t defend himself but why is he then watching over Luke?
I really liked the jokes here and there and Leia is definitely my favorite part of this show.
I am just optimistic about the three remaining episodes of season one, even tho there were so many things that the franchise blindly forgot about…
Can’t wait to watch the upcoming episodes of “Obi-Wan-Kenobi”. Like I knew it would be amazing but I didn’t know it was that amazing! Therefore the first two episodes, are “worth a watch”!
In episode four, Obi-Wan Kenobi plots a daring mission into enemy territory.
I honestly liked this episode even tho there some logic holes as per usual…
I really liked the dialogue in this episode, especially between Leia and Ben.
Can’t wait to watch episodes five, this Thursday!
In episode five, Obi-Wan plans his next move as the Empire, closing in, tries to draw him out.
I really liked the flashbacks of the beginning with Ben and Luke.
This episode was structured so much better than the previous one. Especially in its 2nd Act.
I really liked the tense atmosphere which was an indicator of something that will happen in that episode, throughout! I still love Leia and Lola and Ben. I loved most of the scenes especially with the two lightsaber fights.
This episode was serving us with flashbacks and references to the original franchise which I really liked and walked me down memory lane.
In episode six, the season finale, Obi-Wan is drawn into a confrontation with Vader, as Luke’s fate hangs in the balance.
In Act 3, Ben faces Darth Vader as Rava searches for Luke.
One thing which I really liked was the play with the lights like during the battles between Vader and Kenobi! Just breathtakingly beautiful!
This was a nerdgasm finish to the first season with excellent characters and fan service.
The main events were shown and were as good as they possibly be when you ignore the plot wholes and logic wholes providing by the writers sadly.
The major points of this season finale were the emotional scenes with Ben, Leia, Luke and Anakin. Along with the homages and references to all the movies.
This episode truly feels like a part of the Star Wars Universe and further bridges the gap between the original and prequel trilogies.
Ewan MacGregor and the girl, who played Leia, were excellent, especially in this episode.
What I really liked was the psychological aspect of Ben.
The visuals are as great as you would be expected from a Star Wars franchise spin-off!
I also really liked the music choices in this episode, especially Act 2 and Act 3. It gave me so much nostalgia.
Honestly I was kinda emotional about the ending of this episode and can’t wait to watch season 2! With its ups and downs!
This everything I can say about this episode without spoilering.
Overall, I really enjoyed this mini-series, despite its shortness of episodes and it’s plot wholes and logic holes. Therefore it was “worth a watch”! I really liked the new ideas of Lucas Films.
