Is “The Walk” worth a watch?

A couple days ago, Vertical sent me a screener link to their latest Drama titled “The Walk”, which will officially be released on June 10th 2022. It starrs Justin Chatwin (2021’s “Die in a Gunfight), Malcolm McDowell (2022’s “Father Stu”), Jim Gleason (2015’s “Fantastic Four”), Jeremy Piven (2014’s “Sin City”), just to name a few.

This movie is rated R for language including racial slurs and violence. This movie was directed and written by David Adams (2008’s “The Golden Boys”). It has a runtime of 1h and 45 minutes.

Onto the premise: In 1974, a Boston Irish cop confronts fierce social pressure after being assigned to protect black high school students as they are bused into all-white South Boston High. Story of Boston Irish cop Bill Coughlin as he is faced with fierce social pressure after being assigned to protect black high school students as they are bused into all-white South Boston High during the court-ordered forced integration of the Boston School System in 1974 which resulted in brutal violence and city-wide protests.

This movie was about average, despite the good actors and production. In my opinion, all the talking and some unnecessary scenes made the story less interesting to me.

However, It was an emotional movie and it did have some very enjoyable moments.

I loved the scoring and the cinematography of this movie. The racial parts were very uncomfortable to watch and I was debating on whether I should mute those scenes because I felt really bad for the actors during those times and scenes. It was an enjoyable movie, therefore it is “Worth a watch”!
