Is Netflix’s “Dead End: Paranormal Park” worth a watch?

Remember when mentioned this animation tv show on day three of Netflix’s “GeekedWeek”, well it was released on June 16th 2022. It is an UK and American co-production. It has ten episodes in its first season. It was directed by Liz Whitaker (2009’s Bob The Builder) and written by Hamish Steele (2014’s graphic novel “Dead End”), which this show is based on. O

It is an Animated/Mystery/Fantasy/Adventure/Comedy with adult jokes in it. Onto the actors, Hannah Montana’s Lilly, Emily Osment as the demon girl, Courtney, then we have the ever talented Zach Barack, as Barney, (2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home), along with “Blacklist”’s Alex Brightman, as the little pug, Pugsley, and the ever talented Clinton Leupp (2001’s “Will & Grace”.

Onto the premise: The series follows the story of a group of employees (Barney and Norma) who work at a theme-park haunted house during the summer which might be a portal to hell. Both are joined by Pugsley and Courtney as they face zombies, game show hosts, witches, and crushes.

I loved the characters in this show, like Courtney. I really appreciated that this show wasn’t sidestepping on queerness or mental health issues, one particular episode, hit close to home when Barney was talking about his queerness with his parents.

The animation style was superb! Certain episodes were too relatable to me and also I really liked the diversity and representation of many cultures such as Muslims, which was really surprising to see but I really liked all of the characters. This show was a lot of fun to watch, loved the subtle references to movies and tv shows such as Marvel, Dc and or vampires and dare I say it…. Netflix’s “Stranger Things”!

However, it did start rather slow but hang in there, it will get better and better! I literally binged this show within two days! I am waiting for more episodes!

It was great story wise was well. I really liked those jump scares and horror and gore elements. The episodes have a runtime of 30 minutes.

Another thing that i really liked was how accurate the mental health issues of a certain character was portrayed in this show. I love the little and silly jokes in this show. This show will be my comfort show whenever I get anxious or depressed. It makes you so happy and laugh out loud that you forget about your problems.

Courtney is my spirit animal! Emily did a fantastic job by voicing her!

The soundtrack was SO good as well! Along with some episode concepts, which were really interesting!

Therefore this show is “worth a watch”! I will buy the original graphic novel, and read it!
