Yesterday I watched this new Action/Thriller by AMC+. I was planning on watching it on Friday as well, when it was released on August 5th but couldn’t because of the sea of releases. This one has all my favorite actors and actresses in it so I was really excited to watch it.
This movie was released on August 5th 2022 and starrs Ruby Rose, Framk Grillo, Luis Da Silva Jr. (“Fast and Furious 5), Patrick Schwarzenegger, Scotty Bohnen (2022’s “One Way”). This movie was directed by Declan Whitebloom and written by Ian Hayden. This movie was originally called “The Yacht” but was changed to “Stowaway”. It has a runtime of 1h and 24 minutes.
Onto the premise: A tenacious party girl fights to survive after three thieves commandeer her luxury yacht.
A BIG Hats off for this engaging film. Very much agree with everything said previously about the credit needed for the team behind this – and for the actors – especially given the circumstances because this one was shot during the pandemic.
It’s a fun film with some great performances and beautifully shot scenery. Really enjoyed Frank Grillo, of course, but the rest of the cast did an amazing job.
I also extend my admiration to performers like Ruby Rose, Frank Grillo, and Luis Da Silva Jr for signing on to a lower budget film surrounded by such conditions.
As for the movie, I think by now we all know what we are getting with a Saban movie. I don’t mean that in a bad way, it’s just evident the types of films they exploit. For that, it’s hard for me to compare this film to any I hold in my personal lists of greatness.
My acting praise will go to Luis Da Silva Jr. I feel he is finally showing the world that he can give a solid performance without a gun in his hand. I can’t wait to watch him and Colson Baker and Scotty Bohnen and Kevin Bacon in “One Way” in a couple of weeks!
Given the social and economic conditions, this feature film was produced under, I loved it!
After watching “Bullet Train” I knew that this one would keep me on the edge of my seat as well and so it did!
Overall I really liked it and therefore it was “worth a watch”!
