Is Jordan Peele’s “Honk for Jesus, Save your Soul” worth a watch?

In my last podcast episode, I talked about Peele’s newest movie “Honk for Jesus, Save your Soul”, which is a Comedy and Satire movie.

This movie was released on September 2nd 2022. This movie starrs Regina Hall (Netflix’s “Me Time”), Sterling K. Brown (Netflix’s “Big Mouth”), Nicole Beharie (Apple Tv+’s “The Morning Show”) and Jordan Peele, just to name a few.

This movie was directed by Jordan Peele. it was rated R for language and sexual content.

Onto the premise: In the aftermath of a huge scandal, Trinitie Childs, the first lady of a prominent Southern Baptist Mega Church, attempts to help her pastor-husband, Lee-Curtis Childs, rebuild their congregation.

Regina Hall and Sterling K Brown are a great duo in this film. Both are hilarious when needed and add emotional depth when needed. The documentary style of it takes some getting used to… maybe for budget reasons.

There are times where I wish more happened.

The story felt unfinished and there was no real character arcs in my opinion but I guess thats a real depiction of life because most preachers who find themselves in this type of predicament usually dont learn.

I enjoyed what was given overall. I laughed out loud so many times.

Regina is great in this. An acquired taste for some. Entertaining for others.

This movie was hilarious, I watched solely based on the trailer and how I will always love the mockumentary style.

But the performances of Regina Hall and Sterling K. Brown has taken over.

I wasn’t sure if Sterling K. Brown would pull off the humor but he has done it and proved me wrong.

Regina Hall on the other hand, we all know what she can in comedy given her background of being an actress.

On the other hand, their story was beautifully written, it had all of us, the audience, itching for the next scene and the next, and the twist was insane, Highly recommend on Peacock or theaters! Dont listen to the religious reviews, go in with the thought of seeing a comedy!

Overall I really liked this movie and had so much fun with it. Therefore “Honk For Jesus, Save Your Soul” was worth a watch!
