Is “Vampire Academy” worth a watch?

Its finally here. This series is a Drama and Fantasy. It starrs Daniela Nieves (“Sex Appeal”), Sisi Stringer (“Mortal Kombat”), Kieron Moore (Netflix’s “The Sandman”), André Dae Kim (Netflix’s “Locke & Key”) and Nikol Kollars (“WestWorld”).

This series was directed by Bille Woodruff (“Empire”). It was released on September 15th 2022 on Peacock.

Onto the premise: In a world of privilege and glamour, two young women’s friendship transcends their strikingly different classes as they prepare to complete their education and enter royal vampire society. Rose is in love with her older instructor Dimitri who is also supposed to be protecting Lissa. This series has 11 episodes in its first season! The first three- episode will be released on Thursday. September 15th 2022.

From what I’ve seen in the trailers, it really reminded me of “Shadow Hunters”) but mixed with “First Kill”.

In episode one, is a pilot episode of the series. With their lives upended by tragedy, Rose’s place is uncertain as Lissa faces a new role in court.

The Moroi are non-immortal vampires who are also cool with daylight, even if they’ve adjusted their schedule to be mostly nocturnal, while the Dhampir are their protectors, their “guardians” , and the offspring of a human and Moroi parent.

In episode two, Lissa fears the world will learn her secret. Rose must face the consequences of her actions.

In episode three, The Dominion suffers a great loss. Rose meets her match. Christian receives shocking news.

In episode four, Christian receives a mysterious message. A surprise attack tests the Dhampirs. Lissa investigates the elements.

In episode five, Rose proves she’s a leader, but at a terrible cost. Lissa takes matters into her own hands.

In episode six, During campaign season on the Royal Tour, Rose tries to find peace as Lissa seeks answers about her magic from an unlikely source. Christian confides in a new friend.

In episode seven, Rose and Lissa’s quest for answers leads them beyond the borders of the world they’ve always known. Victor makes a final, desperate push for the throne

In episode eight, Victor hides his shameful secret, as he and Tatiana go head to head in the Trials. Rose and Mason investigate the enemy. Christian makes a startling discovery.

In episode nine, The aftermath of the Trials throws the Dominion into chaos. Christian faces a horrific truth. Rose takes drastic measures for her future. A betrayal causes Lissa to face her Darkness.

This is the season finale aka episode ten, Citizens of the Dominion must come together to face their greatest threat yet. Rose and Lissa make a fateful decision.

.Lissa’s looking for answers about Spirit. Victor’s illness is coming back. Rose, Adrian, Dmitrij and Lissa are under attack by Strigoi. The shocking answers Lissa found leave no choice but to let Rose go as her Guardian.

After watching all three episodes. I genuinely have to say that I had a lot of fun watching this series, the first- three episodes, it’s a mix of “Shadow Hunters”, “Hunger Games” without the starving, and “The Vampire Diaries” but with more sex and violence. There were some really good action scenes and the color grading was alright. I really liked the story and can’t wait for the next episodes.

This was a book adaptation. This show did better than most do when it comes to using a book as source material but making it their own.

The actors they got are so beautiful that it makes this even better.

My only dislike is the effects they use for when Lissa is doing compulsion. Along with the bad bad vfx when it’s dark outside. I really enjoyed the dialogue and the suspense and horror elements and the jump scares, even tho I don’t watch Horror movies!

I love what they’re doing with this show! It’s very different from the books but I love that it keeps me guessing. Even though

I love the books, I appreciate this show for what it is. Even if it doesn’t match exactly how the books are, it’s still an amazing show on its own.

It’s almost like watching an alternate ending, which I think is so fun! The books will always remain the same and people can read them whenever they want, so I think people should really try to give this show a proper go and keep an open mind!

I trust in the writers to provide us with a good series. I believe that the actors truly capture the character’s essence!
