By now, you know that I am a huge fan of Kaley Cuoco. Her newest movie “Meet Cute” was released on September 21st 2022 on Peacock.
This movie is a Romance/Drama /Sci-Fi/Comedy. It starrs Kaley Cuoco, Pete Davidson, Kevin Corrigan (2020’ “The King Of Staten Island”), Deborah S. Craig (“Blacklist”), Sierra Fisk (“Transformers”), just to name a few. This movie was directed by Alex Lehmann (“Project X”).
Onto the premise: What would you do if you could travel to your loved ones’ past, heal their traumas, fix their problems, and change them into the perfect partner?
Both actions star in this dark rom-com about a girl that meets a guy at a bar but she doesn’t exactly tell him everything at the jump of their “Meet Cute” encounter. The movie makes a big left turn at about the 20 minute mark and then keeps you guessing about what is going on for the majority of the movie.
Pete and Kaley have pretty compelling chemistry between the two of them and their comedic timing plays off well of each other. There are some instances where it is a little confusing following “the rules” of what is going on that need a little more fleshed out writing to fully grasp.
The movie also deals with certain aspects of depression that can be triggering for some people, but overall the movie has a lot of heart. If you’re a fan of these two actors and dark rom coms then you will appreciate this movie.1 I found it to be entertaining and thoughtful.
Overall, I really enjoyed this movie even tho I didn’t like its bits which were a bit too confusing, it was definitely worth the wait and worth a watch for me at least. I will talk about this movie in detail on this week’s podcast episode.
