Is “Don’t Worry Darling ” worth a watch?

We all know how controversial this movie has been in the past couple of weeks… yet my excitement for it hasn’t changed !

Because of that, today, “Don’t Worry Darling” finally has been released and here’s my opinion on it , more like it the DRAMA at the Venice Film Festival, was worth it.

This movie was released on September 23rd 2022. It is a Drama/Thriller/Mystery. It starrs Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, Chris Pine, Olivia Wilde, KiKi Layne (“Chip n’ Dale”, the 2022-reboot), Nick Kroll (Netflix’s “Big Mouth”), just to name a few. It was directed by Olivia Wilde.

When I saw the trailer for this new Drama /Thriller, a few months ago, I was immediately hooked!

This movie was rated R for sexual content, violence, disturbing imagery and language.

Onto the premise: A 1950s housewife living with her husband in a utopian experimental community begins to worry that his glamorous company could be hiding disturbing secrets.

Honestly this movie could’ve been easily an “A24” movie!

I really liked Harry and Florence’s on-screen chemistry together.

Its shot well and the cinematography is very good but outside of those things and way better than this movie deserved performances by Florence Pugh

Along with Chris Pine, whose dangerous performance deserves to be in a much better movie!

I thought this film would be entertaining, but lack real excitement and chaos.which is very disappointing because the trailers were painting once again a much more “A24-esque “ movie…

This movie was entertaining for myself. It’s not a heavy psychological thriller, as we all hoped but it does have a few elements that made feel uneasy. As some of the cast stated, there is more to this film than meets the eye. Therefore I would say… don’t blink, and listen….

Pugh’s acting was tremendous, she knows how to make the daytime feel uneasy. The rest of the cast was good, but perhaps because they’re not as centralized as Florence.

Cinematography wasn’t spectacular, but it did a great job of keeping you invested in its story and earning its tension.

The score definitely added to that, as well. The music was perfectly suited for this experience of a movie.

Honestly, the story was very interesting up until the reveal took place, at which point the movie slightly loses momentum, sadly… However, I still wasn’t sure if it would end as I thought, but it definitely didn’t end as I had hoped. There’s a few things I think I would’ve liked to see differently, and maybe even have the runtime a bit lengthened to two and a quarter hours to not have everything so rushed..

Overall I really enjoyed this movie, even tho I was slightly disappointed with certain aspects of this movie… but you can’t have anything in life…. Honestly I wanted this movie to be so so much more darker and psychological as it looked like in its trailers and tv spots.
