Is “The Interview With The Vampire” worth a watch?

Another watchlist item was released today, I was and am so excited to watch this one since it’s a book adaptation! This series is a Drama/Fantasy/Horror.

This series has nine episodes in its first season and the first-two episodes were released on September 30th 2022 and it starrs Jacob Anderson (Amazon Prime’s “Doctor Who”), Eric Bogosian (“Succession”), Jeff Pope (“Euphoria”), just to name a few.

This series was directed by Keith Powell ( Apple Tv+’s “Dickinson”).

Onto the premise/: Based on Anne Rice’s iconic novel, follow Louis de Pointe’s epic story of love, blood and the perils of immortality, as told to the journalist Daniel Molloy.

In episode one, “In Throes of Increasing Wonder…” Louis meets the vampire Lestat in 1910 New Orleans.

In episode two, “…After the Phantoms of your Former Self” Louis learns vampire rules from Lestat.

In episode three, Louis grapples in a fight to retain some semblance of his humanity while struggling to identify the true nature of the identity of a vampire and the urges that come with it. Things escalate and soon take a turn for the worst.

In episode four, “The ruthless pursuit of blood with all a child’s demanding”.

In episode five, Claudia’s activities and curiosities present continued challenges for Louis and Lestat. Her actions light an explosive fuse that erupts at episode’s end.

In episode six, Louis and Claudia continue trying to include Lestat as a member of the family, but after Lestat interferes too many times, their endurance is pushed to the limit.

In episode seven, In the season finale, Claudia’s a plan to kill Lestat is so secret, even Louis is not in on the details. But is Lestat one step ahead of her? The season finale was a here….. sad to say goodbye!

The show kept leaving the hints pointing at the secrets we might find out in this episode… I honestly thought I was prepared, but I was wrong. This brilliant episode added another layer of complexity that affected my perception of the entire show and made me want to re-watch it ASAP.

Louis loves Lestat. He loves him in every universe, and I’m so relieved and happy that the showrunners portrayed it so well despite the mysterious impacts of their chosen story-line. Seeing his glimpses of what really happened were amazing to watch, and they made me greedy for much more content.

Lestat is phenomenal, and his devotion and love for Louis is something to swoon over – in fiction, that is. No matter what happens, no matter how toxic they can get, he never wavers from it.

In this episode we met Claudia a teenager who will be one for the rest of her vampire life.

This version of Claudia is so relatable and painfully human in her suffering. I love the change in point of view for this episode. It made me wish for these three to simply be happy together despite knowing what’s to come. The show continues to dazzle with its beautiful writing, award worthy acting, its music and setting, everything in short. Bailey Bass has taken on the role of Claudia with a force of nature and I cannot wait to see her portray the many different aspects of Claudia. Both Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid continue to be phenomenal. This world is so rich and carefully crafted and so clearly made with love for the source material. It truly is all I could have hoped for as a life long fan.

A wonderfully reimagined version of one of my favorite movies and books. The acting, casting, story and production value all shine. I especially like Jacob Anderson as a new version of Louis. He was great in GoT but this new role really lets him to show his masterfull craft as an actor. The script is intriguing as the writers found a new way to tell the story we all know and love. It becomes a kind of a sequel and deepens and enriches the original characters. I really love that angle, as it keeps the spirit of the story intact but also allows us to be interested in the story – a “what if” version of it. Very cooll! Highly recommend it after first two episodes and hoping that the future

I can’t even begin to put into words how I feel about this episode!!!

It’s absolutely amazing, made me feel every emotion! I laughed, I cried, had my heart broke.

Every episode just gives me more and more love for this series! I didn’t know how they would top themselves after the amazing episodes that were 1 and 2, but they surely did, none of this is making sense but I’m just so mind blown.

If you aren’t watching this series, you SHOULD be! It is well worth it.

I honestly can’t wait to watch more of this show!
