Is Netflix’s “The Good Nurse “ worth it watch?

This movie was another highly anticipated one for me.

This Netflix movie starrs Eddie Redmayne (“Fantastic Beasts”), Denise Pillott (“Manifest”), Jessica Chastain (“The Eyes Of Tammy Faye”), Marcia Jean Kurtz (“The Blacklist”), Ajay Naidu (Apple Tv+’ “WeCrashed”), Noah Emmerich (Apple Tv+’ “Suspicion”), just to name a few.

This Netflix movie was directed by Tobias Lindholm.

This movie was released on October 26th 2022 on Netflix. It was rated R for language.

This movie is a Crime/Drama/Biography/Thriller.

Onto the premise: Amy, a compassionate nurse and single mother struggling with a life-threatening heart condition, is stretched to her physical and emotional limits by the hard and demanding night shifts at the ICU. But help arrives when Charlie, a thoughtful and empathetic fellow nurse, starts at her unit. While sharing long nights at the hospital, the two develop a strong and devoted friendship, and for the first time in years, Amy truly has faith in her and her young daughters’ future. But after a series of mysterious patient deaths sets off an investigation that points to Charlie as the prime suspect, Amy is forced to risk her life and the safety of her children to uncover the truth. According to Netflix.

This movie is based on a true story.

Dark and foreboding, this movie starts slowly and builds eerily and suspensefully.. Don’t let the darkness and the brutally realistic portrayals of medical procedures scare you away from one of the best movies of the year.

The performances by the two leads Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne are intensely believable. Also worth mentioning are Noah Emmerich and Malik Yoba as the two detectives assigned to the case, they seem very real and unlike typical movie detectives.

There are no car chases and no last minute capures. Just frustratingly slow and with infuriating bureaucracy. But it’s clear that there is evil sometimes where you don’t expect it.

Overall I really really enjoyed this movie, it was better than I expected! My expectations were met with this movie! I will nw talking about it on this week’s podcast episode!
