This movie was another highlight for the month of December!
It starrs Adam Driver, Greta Gerwig (“The Mindy Project”), Don Cheadle (“diabolical: The Boys”), Danny Wolohan (“Causeway”), Lars Eidinger (“Irma Vep”), Musician André 3000 (Fromtman of “OutKast”), just to name a few.
This movie was directed by Noah Baumbach (“Marriage Story”).
This movie was released on December 30th 2022 on Netflix. It was rated R for violence, language, nudity, Profanity and drug use.
This movie debuted at the “New York Film Festival”, “Miami Film Festival”, “Venice Film Festival”, “NewPort Beach International Film Festival” and “Tokyo International Film Festival”, just to name a few.
This movie is a Comedy/Drama/Mystery/Horror.
Onto the premise: Dramatizes a contemporary American family’s attempts to deal with the mundane conflicts of everyday life while grappling with the universal mysteries of love, death, and the possibility of happiness in an uncertain world.
Did you know? This is Noah Baumbach’s first time writing and directing a book-to-screen adaptation, and only his second adaptation after co-writing the screenplay for Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009).
Spoiler alert: Jack Gladney’s alarm clock radio is a Panasonic. “Panasonic” was Don DeLillo’s original title for the novel “White Noise”; it was abandoned because of the trademark owned by the electronics brand.
The picture changes genres within the same movie, with plenty of references to the 70’s generation and Baumbach’s own generation.
The toxic cloud part of the movie is an homage to the movies of disasters.
Adam Driver is looking for an old newspaper in a circular pan which reminds us of Blow Out, finishing with the messy room in an overhead shot. Extraordinary intertextual, postmodern movie with lots of cinematographic references and a touch of irony.
This movie really reminded me of “Don’t Look Up” I had even more fun watching this movie and my expectations were met so we’ll with this movie! It was auch a n amazing mind bending Movie and a a really good end of the year Movie.
Talk to you all in the new year! Overall I really enjoyed this movie and I would say it’s better than “Don’t Look Up”! And so worth the wait!
