This is not based on real life since it’s a projection of the future. This is based on what the world could look like if global temperatures keep rising at the pace they currently are. Climate change deniers want to deny fossil fuel is responsible and want to pretend this is just how nature works and that in time things will be back to normal. They don’t want to inconvenience their own lives to help future lives so they make up excuses so they don’t have to change their ways. In Texas, they’re trying to change how climate change is taught in schools because they don’t want to blame the Fossil Fuel industry claiming it’s the Fossil Fuel industry that paid for the schools. So they acknowledge the truth but don’t want future generations to learn about it because they’re paid off by Big Oil.
