This mini-series is a gem I found this month.

It starrs Dominique Fishback (Netflix’s “Project Power”), muaicians Chloe Bailey and Billie Eilish, Karen Rodriguez (“Chicago Fire”), Damson Idris (“Black Mirror”), Paris Jackson, Kiersey Clemons (“Bojack Horsemen”), Byron Bowers (“Irma Vep”), Rickey Thompson (“Good Mourning”), just to name a few.
This series was produced and directed by Musician Donald Glover (“Atlanta”) aka. Childish Gambino.
This series was released on March 17th 2023 on Amazon Prime Video. This series also debuted at the SXSW film festival on March 10th 2023.
This series is a Drama/Comedy/Thriller/Horror. It was rated Tv-Mature for Sex, Nudity, gore, violence, profanity, frightening imagery and intense scenes.
This series was inspired by real life fans and their fandoms such as Beyoncé and her Bee hive fandom.
Onto the premise: A young woman’s obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn.
In Episode one, Dre plans a birthday surprise for her sister.
In Episode two, Dre starts a new job in Tennessee.
In episode three, Dre takes a road trip.
In Episode Four, Dre befriends some white girls.
In Episode five, Dre tries to get her phone fixed.
In Episode six, This is a true crime story.
In the season finale, episode seven, Dre lays roots in Atlanta.
How far would an obsessed fan go? This show highlights what it looks like when you are part of one of those celebrity fan bases.
Good show. I know members of certain fan bases may not like it because this show reflects how you act.
The lead actor, Dominique Fishback, is so intriguing I didn’t want her characters journey to end.
The show was a blast from beginning to end if you’re the type of viewer that respects a show that can conjure so many emotions and elements of film-making all in one experience from gore to comedy to drama to thriller. Just be prepared because the imagery is extremely graphic but necessary and it’s all done in good taste.
the chemistry with Chloe and Damson felt so real and also the relationship with Her and Dominique character I love seeing all three of these people together on screen I know the rest of the episode’s will amazing and I wish I can watch all of them right now. The first two were a nice tease to what’s more to come and I’m so proud of the cast for coming together to bring us another amazing show I love the theme of the show dealing with Mental Health issues and the Fandoms of celebrities.
The story of an obsessive fan girl and her psychotic plans and the references to Beyoncé are so incredible to watch and I absolutely love this take on obsessive fan girls. As some one who’s been a part of so many fandoms , i really enjoyed this ride with Dominique because it really shows the outstanding people, and even people in fandoms, like me how far one could go to reach their idols…
I liked Dominique in Netflix’s “Project power “ back in 2020, but her role of Dre, was on a different level of acting, like I’m so proud of how far she’s come! She does such a wonderful job at just having that LOOk in her eye, the pure obsessive evil behind it and when they play the swarming bee sounds as she’s thinking her malicious plans is beautiful. The writing, the characters, everything about this show is already blowing my mind!
