Is “Tetris” worth a watch?

This movie was another item on my jam packed March watchlist. As a 90s baby, I literally grew up with playing this game!

This Drama, Biography, Thriller and History starrs thee Eggsy from the “Kingsman” movie! Along with Toby Jones (“Empire Of Light”) Matthew Marsh (“The Contractor”), Sofya Lebedeva (“Vikings: Valhalla”), Bhav Joshi (“Wedding Season”), just to name a few.

This movie was directed by Jon S. Baird.

This movie was released on March 31st 2023.

This movie debuted at the “South By Southwest Film Festival” on March 15th 2023.

This movie was rated R for language.

Onto the premise: The story of how one of the world’s most popular video games found its way to players around the globe. Businessman Henk Rogers and Tetris inventor Alexey Pajitnov join forces in the USSR, risking it all to bring Tetris to the masses.

I am mezmerisingly surprised on how much tension such a generic ”history of the…” could make!

I really liked the visual aspect and structure of the movie.

The cast makes this story very fun to follow! Especially Eggsy.

I never knew the entire backstory behind the success of Tetris. I was intrigued when I first saw the trailer and wonder if it could be any fun or good and I’m very pleased that it’s a pretty cool movie and I did enjoy it quite a ton. Taron Egerton did such a good job in the role and did some good acting and i think this movie was a good time and the whole story behind tetris and now I want to play some tetris after watching this movie. This isn’t groundbreaking but it’s just a fun time in general which I think people should watch and I recommend to watch it.

And the way they captured the excitement and anticipation of bringing the game to the world was thrilling.

Including those plot twists, they were pretty good! I won’t give anything away, but there were a few surprises that kept me on the edge of my seat. And the way they resolved the conflicts was satisfying and left me feeling content.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie and as a 90s baby myself I was so so on board with the name dropping sich as “Gameboy” or “Nintendo”.
