Onto the premise: After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited when she meets Tedros, a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest, darkest, depths of her soul?

In Episode one, As Jocelyn preps for her triumphant return, a leaked photo sends her team into crisis mode – just as a journalist arrives to do an in-depth profile on her. Later, Jocelyn has a chance encounter with nightclub owner Tedros.

In Episode two, After clashing with her team over her album’s first single, Jocelyn pushes herself to the limit on the set of her new music video, while Nikki sees potential in backup dancer Dyanne. Later, Tedros introduces Jocelyn and Leia to Izaak and Chloe from his inner circle.

In Episode Three, As Tedros inserts himself into Jocelyn’s life by offering input on her wardrobe and collaborators, Leia brings her growing concerns to Chaim and Destiny. But when her team suddenly begins to soften toward Tedros, Jocelyn becomes even more emotionally tethered to him.

In Episode Four, While fighting for the upper hand in her relationship with Tedros, Jocelyn becomes determined to introduce her new persona to the world. Later, Jocelyn’s team discusses her increasing involvement with Tedros and his inner circle.

In Episode five, While planning a showcase for her upcoming tour, Jocelyn begins to take control of the relationships around her, much to Tedros’s dismay. Later, a meeting with Jocelyn disrupts Nikki’s plans for Dyanne, as disturbing news about Jocelyn’s ex emerges.

In the season finale, episode six, While planning a showcase for her upcoming tour, Jocelyn begins to take control of the relationships around her, much to Tedros’s dismay. Later, a meeting with Jocelyn disrupts Nikki’s plans for Dyanne, as disturbing news about Jocelyn’s ex emerges.

This series really reminded me of Shades of Gray meets Taurus…

This series first -three episodes debuted at 2023 Cannes International Film Festival in May!

The Idol is an uncomfortable viewing experience that seems intent on pushing boundaries for the sake of it, rather than providing any profound commentary on the music industry or female experiences within it. It presents a gross mishmash of lewd sex scenes and graphic content, most of which feel more like cheap, sensationalist tactics rather than necessary plot devices.

The cinematography is great, and the opening scene is really really powerful, it reminded me of Margot Robbie in Babylon.I did not expect it to be so funny,

Lily-Rose is fantastic.

The clash between the old guard and the new woke internet people is amusing and true to life.

I am curious to where Tedros and Jocelyn’s relationship goes as it is obvious to the viewer that it’s only headed to disaster. Tedros is a walking red flag and it should be fun to see how far they can push his influence on an emotionally unstable Jocelyn.

the thread of truth that runs through this does make you realize how much money talks and everything is about fame and money. The entertainment industry is as much about tragedy as it is fame.
