A few days ago, Lionsgate sent me a screener to their newest movie “Righteous thieves” which will be released today in theaters.
This movie is a Thriller and a heist movie.
This movie starrs Cam Gigandet (“Violent Night”), Jaina Lee Ortiz (“Greys Anatomy”), Lisa Vidal (“Grey’s Anatomy”), Carlos Miranda (“Grey’s Anatomy”), just to name a few.
This movie was directed by Anthony Nardolillo (“Chicago Med”). It was rated R for language.
In this ultimate heist thrill-ride, Annabel (Lisa Vidal), a leader of a secret organization engaged in the recovery of priceless artwork, assembles a ragtag crew of art thieves to recover a Monet, Picasso, Degas, and Van Gogh stolen by Nazis during WWII and now in the possession of neo-Nazi billionaire oligarch Otto Huizen (Brian Cousins). As the planned heist approaches, loyalties are tested when the crew learns the real reason behind Annabel’s search for the long-lost paintings. According to Lionsgate.
This movie was truly thee best movie I’ve seen thus far.
This movie comes with a great story of revenge and redemption. Along with its twists and turns you definitely don’t see coming!
With a flashback conversation between Annabel and the rich Jewish business man, who survived the Holocaust.
We then see a red colored intro-sequence to the movie, along with a stellar soundtrack, more like an opening song. Oh and before I forget it, that conversation led up to the moment, where we see Annabel makes her entrance into the In this ultimate heist thrill-ride, Annabel (Lisa Vidal), a leader of a secret organization engaged in the recovery of priceless artwork, assembles a ragtag crew of art thieves to recover a Monet, Picasso, Degas, and Van Gogh stolen by Nazis during WWII and now in the possession of neo-Nazi billionaire oligarch Otto Huizen (Brian Cousins). As the planned heist approaches, loyalties are tested when the crew learns the real reason behind Annabel’s search for the long-lost paintings.
Even though her previous mission failed, nevertheless, Annabel is ver determined to keep her promise to that holocaust survivor, so she builds a team of the best thieves she can, and is keen on four paintings, which are currently in possession of a ruthless neo-Nazi art hoarder named Otto.
With her team of thieves, we get an individual introduction sequence and we also find out that Eddie, played by Carlos Miranda, is also a part of this team and was a part of that previous mission led by Annabel, which failed.
With a good planning montage, the team of thieves led by Annabel, they successfully locate those four paintings. The paintings are in Los Angeles.
Not too long after their being able to locate those paintings, the team, along with Eddie, find out the real reason of the mission….
forcing Anabelle to the sidelines as the team makes a plan, in a really cool sounding planning montage, to retrieve the art from Otto’s high-tech vault before they’re caught.
But Otto has already moved those paintings to collect his bounty, which he put had on Annabel’s head along with the other person who originally set a bounty onto Anabel’s head.…. Or so he thought because in the third act, we found out that that wasn’t the case at all…
Certain scenes, without spoilering, reminded me of “Cash Truck” along with “Ocean’s 8”. Or those really cool fighting sequences or semi-one-takes. I liked!
This movie definitely was a ride and I enjoyed every minute of it! Especially the dialogues and the dynamics. Even the Nazi-plot was interesting.
This movie made me cry and I wasn’t expecting it to do, because it’s a “heist movie”..
Honestly I had so much fun with this movie like if you liked 2018’s movie “The Vault” of Netflix’s “The Kaleidoscope”, you will definitely like this movie!
This movie was a trip. It’s cast did an amazing job! I honestly don’t have anything negative to say about this movie.
I can’t wait for you guys to watch this movie. It is a Lionsgate project so you know it will be a good movie!
Thank you so much for Lionsgate for the screener.
This movie definitely was “worth a watch”.
Stay tuned for more reviews!
